What is SEO???

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, it is a mind game used by the content writer to get high organic traffic by ranking their website in the top pages of google.

When anyone enters a keyword in Google search box and your website is on top pages of Google then it’s mean your post has a strong SEO and your content is WordPress SEO friendly.

If your website is ranking on top pages of google then the clicking of your website automatically increases and you can generate more money through Adsense and Affiliate program.

WordPress SEO basics

Here I am going to discuss some of the basic SEO tips to optimize your site and boost your daily organic traffic. For using these techniques you don’t have to be a tech genius but for optimizing you just have to install the WordPress SEO plugins and you are ready to boost up your blog.

Using WordPress SEO friendly URL Structures

The URL structure or the permalinks contain words that clearly explain the content of your website and easy to read and understand by search engine and human both.

These above URLs are readable and a user can easily guess what they will see on this page just by looking permalinks.

You can set up the best permalink option by WordPress setting. You need to visit the Settings » Permalink page. Select the post name option then click on the “Save Changes” button.

Using WordPress SEO friendly permalink structure increases your chances of getting good google results positions.

NOTE: Please don’t change your permalink design, if you have been running your Website for over 6 months. Start using that if you use day and name or Month and name.

Install WordPress SEO plugin

In this, we have using the WordPress plugin i.e Yoast SEO to make our post WordPress SEO friendly.

We have a menu name Plugins in the left sidebar and then click on Add new in Submenu.

In the right side search menu type Yoast SEO and then Install and activate this plugin.

Configuration wizard of Yoast SEO

After the installation of the Yoast SEO plugin, you have to set up the configuration wizard of Yoast SEO.

• You will see the SEO configuration portion in the Yoast SEO plugin setting, click the wizard configuration button.
• A welcoming text will be displayed and then click the Yoast SEO configure tab.
• At the first point, select Choice A and then press the next tab.
• Select available choices, including a blog, an online store, news channel, an off-line business, a business, the portfolio, etc. Select next. Then press Next.
• Select whether your website is a business or person. The name of the person/company or a company logo may then be entered.
• On the Search engine visibility page choose A option in all three. Then, click the Next button.
• Choose if you have more than one author for the website on the Multiple Writers tab. If you are only a writer of the blog, then pick “NO”
• You’ll then be on the Title settings screen and pick your title and site name separation character. First click. Click first.
• You can enter your name/email address if you want to subscribe to the Yoast SEO Newsletter and then click on Sign Up!. Click Next. Click Next.
• When you see a Success update, you finish with the Yoast SEO Configuration Wizard. Click On. Press On.

After the installation of the WordPress Yoast SEO plugin, you will able to check all the errors of readability and SEO below of your posting page.

Let’s find the errors and correct them to make your post SEO friendly.

Yoast Readability

Sentence length:- Try to shorten your sentences, don’t use 20+ words in a sentence.

Paragraph length:– In your post use paragraphs and not use too many words in a paragraph.

Subheading distribution:- Use proper subheadings so others can understand that what the blogger explaining in this heading.

Consecutive sentences:- Don’t try to mix things up or don’t start your continuous sentences with the same words.

Flesch reading ease:- Make your sentences easy in reading and your content must-have in a paragraph so others can understand your whole post easily.

Passive Voice:- Passive voice makes your writing more distant and your message less clear. Try to write in an active voice — it will make your writing much stronger!

Transition words:- Transition words make your content more readable and give directions to your readers.
Example- besides, therefore, because, at the same time, rather, etc.

Yoast SEO

On the left side of the readability tab just click on the SEO tab which shows all the SEO related information, and helps in finding the SEO errors and by correcting them your post is ready to rank on google.

When you click on the SEO tab the first one displaying box is focus keyphrase. In this box, you put your keyword related to your post. One thing that you must have put in your mind is your focus keyphrase should have high search volume and low SEO difficulty. You can do your keyword researching from Ubersuggest.

The next option is google preview, In this, you can see the preview of your post a mobile result and desktop result. You can click on the Edit snippet option for adding your SEO title, slug and meta description.

SEO title:- It automatically takes your post title as the default but if the below line of SEO title is red or orange so you can edit it and make the below line green.

Slug:- It also takes your title as default so don’t edit it.

Meta description:- It is the brief description of your full post and it shows in google below your title and a website link. Make your meta description catchy use your focus keyphrase in meta maximum 2 times.

After that, the analysis result comes if you do all the above things in a great way then very fewer errors shown in the analysis.

Image alt attributes:- If you adding an image in your post the attachment details will appear on the right side of the add media popup window. The first box is ALT text so put the image related keyword in this box and the same do with the title box.

Text length:- Use 500+ words in your overall post.

SEO title width:- Don’t use too short SEO title.

Meta description length:- The search engine will display the meta so don’t use too short meta.

Keyphrase length:- Set a keyphrase not too long and not too short.

Outbound link:- These links can take you to another webpage of the particular word. You can create an outbound link by simple steps.

• First, select the word then click on the insert/edit link
• option a URL paste box will appear. The insert link tab is in the above tools option.
• Then put the other website link in the URL box and don’t forget to tick on the open link in a new tab which is in setting right of the URL box

Inbound link:- You can create the inbound link the same as an outbound link but the URL should not be of the other website in the inbound link you can use your own website’s link of some other post or pages.
